Fabulous Fall Foliage in North Alabama

Every fall Huntsville rolls out a foliage carpet dressed in blazing oranges and reds, yellows and purples. This year prime leaf-peeping time will be a little later than usual with colors peaking in mid-November.  However, colors can be brilliant two weeks before and after peak and even different from one area to another. Leaf peepers can drive scenic mountain roads, hike lush mountain paths and stroll downtown to soak in the electrifying display of color. If you’re planning a trip to the Huntsville, AL area, here are the most vibrant places to admire fall foliage: Monte Sano Sano State Park –  Start at Five Points and jump on Bankhead Parkway which will bring you up the backside of Monte Sano Mountain.  This winding, two-lane scenic route is lined with trees and will offer a breathtaking bouquet of fall colors.  Make sure to bring your camera, because when you get to the top you will be gifted with spectacular views of the colorful mountainside.
